Diet For Fibroids-What To Avoid

By admin | July 25, 2011

In my last post, we looked at 4 food types to avoid in a diet for fibroids and as stated in that post, they were not the only ones.  To recap, we looked at refined sugar, refined carbohydrates and white grains, red meats and fatty meats and dairy produce.

Of course, not all meat is bad and you can even have lean read meat in moderation, but you should ensure it is organic and eaten only occasionally and in small quantities.You are probably already aware that it is important to follow a fibroid diet.  Indeed, what you eat is one of the major factors in fibroids beginning to grow-albeit not the only one.  Other factors include genetic influences, your estrogen levels and lifestyle.

Although you should not assume that by changing what you eat, you can completely get rid of your uterine fibroids, it can be quite surprising the difference dietary modifications can make.  This, coupled with other good healthy living practices really could improve your situation.

Diet For Fibroids-Other Foods To Avoid

In addition to the four foods mentioned above, the following should also be avoided where possible;

  • Hydrogenated Oils and Partially hydrogenated oils
  • Grains containing gluten
  • Egg Whites
  • Processed produce
  • Soy based foods and products
  • Drinks containing alcohol
  • Drinks containing caffeine

All the above foods can contribute towards hormonal imbalances either directly or indirectly.  Others also cause other problems which can cause fibroids to grow larger or for new ones to begin growing.  A number of experts on the subject of fibroids suggest that foods such as egg white and grains containing gluten can clog up the digestive system and should be avoided when following a diet for fibroids.  When this happens, it causes foods to ferment in the gut which can cause toxins and yeast growth.

Processed foods, such as meats like sausages, salami hams etc and, indeed, any foods which are cooked or prepared with the use of additives are bad for fibroid sufferers.  The aim of natural fibroid treatment and a fibroid diet is to get the body back into balance, which means eating the range of required nutrients with nothing artificial which can get stored within the liver and continue to exert an unwanted effect.

Alcohol and caffeine are known to be toxic substances for anyone, not just women suffering from uterine fibroids and other conditions known to be aggravated by imbalances in the body, such as ovarian cysts and endometriosis.

As well as the above foods, two other substances deserve a mention when looking at foods to avoid when you are following a diet for fibroids.  These are drugs and tobacco.  Although not strictly “foods”, both groups of substances are toxic.  Not only should you avoid illegal drugs, but it is worth considering your intake of over the counter remedies and only take them if necessary.  Perhaps you could consider alternative treatments if they are available. In addition, if you are taking the birth control pill, this causes hormonal disruption which can contribute towards hormonal imbalances and the growth of uterine fibroids.

Following a diet for fibroids can greatly help your condition and is an integral part of Amanda Leto’s Fibroids Miracle System, the tried and tested way to eliminate fibroids naturally.
